Greetings to all!
On Saturday, March 17th, St. Patrick's Day, the Society for Creative Anachronism
has been invited to participate in the Annual Tucson St. Patrick's Day Parade by
the parade organizers. That's right, I said INVITED. It is their feeling that we
will bring a sense of History and Fellowship to their event by our presence.

What this means is a day in the sun...and exposure for the Barony, College and
Society that money can't buy.

Hundreds of people will be watching the Parade live and going to the Festival at
Armory Park afterward.
The Parade is also covered by the Local TV stations and Newspapers which reach
THOUSANDS of people.

If we get enough people to participate, this is what it can happen:
- An Artisan's Pavilion showing the Crafts of the Middle Ages which our artisans
have masterfully recreated.
- Bear Pit Tourneys for Youth, Rapier, and Hardsuit, with prizes for the
winners based on points-acquired while fighting.
- A Mobile Fighting Erik in the Parade for Youth, Rapier and Hardsuit...IN the
Parade.
- A Parade Float for wee-ones so they too can enjoy the Parade. (Still working
on this. Anyone got a Flatbed trailer we can borrow?).
- A chance to Shine like we never have before with the Public, the Press and our
future members who haven't met us yet.

If you want to help, come out to Fighter Practice on February 27th, March 6th
and 13th. Lady Amber and I will be signing people up so we'll know how to lay it
out. We'll also try to answer any questions you have.

BTW, You don't have to come for the whole day. Even an Hour would help.
You can come out, play a little and even enjoy the Festival. Armory Park is
located across the Street from the Tucson Children's Museum (Who will have
activities out in force).

You also don't HAVE to come out to Fighter Practice to sign up. Sending me an
email (unclefergie@...) or to Lady Amber (kevindraggon1@...) saying
what you'd like to bring, do, be a part of and when you can be there. You can
even call me at Home if that's easier (296-9972 - As a personal rule I don't
call anyone back after 9pm. Leave a message if you get my machine.).

Now for the nuts and bolts-
We have been given the South East corner of Armory Park (Northwest Corner of 6th
Avenue and 12th Street-Downtown) to set up our demo. It is a green grassy area,
protected by a chain-link fence behind with some shade. The Baronial Pyg will be
set up as a shady spot for the Artisan's Showcase. The Pyglette will be set up
as a shade area for all types of the populace. There will be a specially laid
out Erik that has an additional five foot "buffer zone" around it (for safety).
Behind the Pyg will be a secured area for Armor, Equipment and Coolers if you
wish to bring them.

The Demo Location is INSIDE the Designated Beer Garden and near the Stage so we
will have Irish Music and Dancing well within range of us (But not so close as
to drown us out). Budweiser and Guinness are sponsoring the drinks (We do ask
that if you wish to imbibe that you keep it light so as not to cause problems.
We are presenting ourselves to the Public and Media here.)

We'll need help setting up the Demo Area. People who volunteer for that need to
be at Armory Park by 8:30-8:45 in the Morning. (Yes, I know that's early for
some of you. It is for me too, but I'll be there.)
The Line-up for the Parade starts at 10am (The same time the Festival starts.).
We need the people marching in the Parade to be in place by 10:30am so we can go
over any last minute details and get a proper send off by the best B&B in the
Knowne World, Ivan and Ianuk.

The location of the Line-up will be based on how many people we tell them are
coming (Now you know why you have to sign up in advance.).We'll either be
setting up on 13th, 14th or 15th Street off of 6th Avenue. We'll also be
screaming this information from the highest parapet when we know what it is. If
it comes down to the wire (which it won't) the crew at Armory Park will know the
day of set-up.

At 11am the Parade begins moving. Groups on those streets will proceed down 6th
Avenue until we turn onto 15th Street going West. That's where the Parade
'starts.' It then goes over to Stone Avenue and goes North to Congress. There it
chugs along East until we hit 6th Avenue again. There we go South where we
finish at Armory Park The Route is a big rectangle.

This is about 2 miles of walking (give or take). If you can't walk that far you
might be able to get on the Float (Provided we find a flatbed trailer soon
enough. Did I mention we're looking for one?). Comfortable shoes are a must.
Guards will be posted at the Demo site during the Parade (Volunteers come see
me) and the Police will be out in force.

Once we arrive (about 12pm) , we start the Demo. The Festival is set to go to
4pm so the Demo will be from Noon to 4pm. Also, the park will be set up to have
Vendors selling their Wares. If any SCA Vendors want to get out into the public
eye for a day, contact me and I'll get you to the right people.

I'm hoping to have parking information mapped out for Downtown by March 6th's
Fighter Practice. Car pooling is recommended, however. (If someone wants to set
up and run a shuttle service from the University, who will be out on Spring
Break that week and have LOTS of free parking, I won't fault them.).

By the end of the day we'll be tired, but feeling refreshed from the amount to
FUN I know we are going to have.

This is The Best Barony in the Knowne World. Let's show them how good we really
are.

Well this should be intresting. Kent, Chris's littlest brother will be staying with us for some time. He's 16 years old and a highschool drop out. He's been drifting from house to house in the family. He started off in 3 points where he had a huge drug problem. So the family send hem off to Merna's house. Wich was off the heavy drugs but now in pot. He was in the same highschool so he had his same druggy friends. Since He dropped out he realy dues not have the education to get a good paying job. So in turn he dues not have a place of his own. Danny and Vi just had there baby so he volinteered to wach there other little girl since mom and dad are at the hospitle for the standered 2 days. Kent is out standing with children. He said he dues not wante to go back to the drugs, hes done with it. He actoly wante to stay in town and away from 3 points. Not from family but from the drugs. For a 16 year old to come to the relization so young is kinda sad in todays time. But rewarding at the same time. He's noticed his addiction and willing to face it now. Anyhow he wantes to move in with us. Not only are we strick but we can help hem get back on track. I said it was ok if he live with us, but at the same time asked what is he going to do with his life? Chris pointed out the fact if hes not going to go to school he needs to get a job. I pointed out the fact if he cannot find a job he needs to go back to school. If not the same school a school never the less. He said he wantes to get his GED. Thats fine there is a place he can get that right down the street. If he wantes I"ll help hem. I also pointed out the fact that he can go to job core if he need more assistance then we are able to give hem. He said he could not go last time becues mom and dad makes to much. I pointed out the fact that at this point he's not realy living with mom and dad and he's his own income. We'll help hem with putting a roof over his head, and food in his mouth, but it's not going to be easy. It was not easy for Chris and I. Poor boy he's hit with reality so young, but it's reality. Nothing is ever handed to you. You have to scrach, claw, or even bit your way out of the gutter. Not everyone is born with a step stool to sucsess, and for the specil few that are rased no ware near the trenches of life and have a silver or even gold spoon in there mouth. The'll never see a hard day work in there life. We are simple people that need to work our hardest.

well, another over sea's trip came up and I've been turned down again. I'm not worried about it I'm actoly expecting it at this point. I dont have a pass port. Aparently the people that they already gave passports out get first shot of going any place now with all the cut backs. I"m not bitter about it I know thats how it works in a buisness world. When there is money there is projects and alot of what I would think questoinble dishion making, when there is no money its the exact opiset. We are working to the bone just to stay aflote. Hopefuly with the new re-org we can find some kind of middle. Insted of wipping back and forth like the company is known to do. But a suprizing treat. The new boss sees this issue and actoly doing something about it. Some time next week I should be starting the paper work on putting in for a passport for work. Wich means when it comes time to offer my services I dont get passed up for assinments. I like this. I'm going to ride the ride with this company till the end I rather get layed off insted of quit. Thats not my way I"m not a quiter, but I do make plans for the fucher. I'm shooting for Art school. So I can do something with my drawing insted of selling a pice of my art to pay my rent. Or my tattoo's for some chump change. Maybe something with the company, maybe something with out. But personaly I would have a open door that I know will be there. For now next month I'm going to the DoJo. I thougt Sensai said it's going to be 50 dollers a month to go, Wich I would happely pay for. When I poney up the douh it was 15. I was happely suprized.

Car payed off

Well I got my income tax's back. I decided that I will pay off the car. We (Chris and I) headed off to the car place that has our lean. There asking "do you wante a pay off quoat?" We said yes they gave us the amount and we put the money down. The woman almost looked like she thought we where kidding. Aparently she did, she had to talk to her sup. Her sup came out and said thank you and gave us the recete and waved good buy. Chris was going to go but I asked for the tital they again looked shocked. I questioned it and they starte out said that people dont realy ever pay off the loan. Its very rare that people actoly pay off there loans. Chris and I chickled and left it at that. Just odd that people dont pay off there car. I guess most of them wantes detes all there life.

ok what the hell is the point of QA testing if there not going to test for errors?!! I've spend most of my morning fighting with this new products and not going any place with it. The basics have not been QA tested. I was trying to work with Tony on getting simplify issues resolved but NO. We get this pice of crap!! AAHHHHHhhh

busy at work

Well it's been some time. I"ve been so busy. Work has me doing stupit win calls. Its realy starting to suck. I got dinied for yet another India trip. Oh well at this point I"m not even worried about it. I"m just not asking anymore. Seeing that now there asking for people for the phili that are DSL trained there are 5 of us left. I"m one of the 5. Its a short trip but the way that everyone gets there bugets slashed its amazing that you get reninberst for the amount you do put down for a pass port. The people that got picked for the India trip befor still have not receved re-enbersment for the 100 or so money they already put down.
I think we are only going to give chat room support for the phili people that need help with DSL. But realy hate to see what there training is. Seeing that we never got any training when we where in DSL. They kinda said the calls are comming in, do your best. We deveolped the tools to get the TS going, and to work with at the time, DSL filds, sat filds and Cable! Cable was a easy part. Ping the edge, dues it ping? yes no? ok this is where it goes. DSL was a pain in the ass becues the phone company would perpasly cut our lines. To the point we were sueing phone companys. They like Bell south tought it was cute to start charging people 150 - 175 if they wanted to go with us. On the other hand nothing if they wanted to go with them. Then for a re-previshoning they did not cair if the person already payed. They get the joy of paying again. Sattilit! oh man don't get me started. If a mouse farted it died. So needless to say we no longer do the DSL sine. But here in the phili there trying to do support on it. I'm thinking becues there are a few fools out there that still have it. 25.90 for ISP, pluse 13.00 to 35.00 for broadband on top of that. Man talking about milking it. I realy wanted to shoot the person that was in charge of the protocalls in HC. Can you beleve there was a time they actoly said, no matter what the member calls in for replace the modem. Then we find the modem we did send out needed to be replace becues they had a cooling issue. And as a charrie on the top, out of the blue after we dedicated 3 years of our job experiance in this product of hell they tell us DSL is no more. Basicly the same line they gave the call centers. In a few weeks all the's peole will take a new type of call. one team would be left to take the last amount of calls. You had a choice of Windows, or billing. Basicly the 2 shitties call types there could be. I was on the last team to go so I did not get to pick. But our team of 5 I diched into maternity leve. Dan wanted so hard to take the last DSL call. It was a emoshional thing for hem. He was the first to open the Q the last out. Man them days suck. Odd how if we dont remember the past it's going to repet its self. this is my oppenion on our up comming project. I dont like it it's to basic. Dont see why they need to send techs over for it

Holly crap it snowed like mad last night!! And this morning it was still there! This is the first time in my life time I've ever seen snow in the morning. Hunter was so excited!!! So was I. We both ran out side this morning and played in the snow. Danny got stuck at our house becues all briges where iced up. OH man it was fun!!! ^_^

Aparently Keyla left Steve... Sad thing is she just got up and left. From Steve's point he was talking to Keyla on the phone came home and they where gone. He is very worried about them. But with every story there is the story and the story teller. Dont know wich one is Steve. Both like to tell a good story but in every story truth starts it off. The imagination loves to twist it up. Problem is between them is a baby. Baby Zander is off with mommy. But mommy last I know dont have a job. I'm worried about hem. Where did he go?

Ok this is sad now. Our boss's boss now going with another company. Fills kinda lost when the boss goes but even wors when his boss takes off. We dont have any projects on our plate right now becues of the company reorginization and Steve was the only one that was letting us know what's comming down the pipe. He was a cool boss. A bit on the cowboy side becues he's in AZ but now he's heading out to TX. He will be missed.....
